Can you offer best practices for someone who wants to make the move to E-Business Suite on Linux?

EXPERT RESPONSE
Unfortunately I don't have such a list and I am not sure one exists. I do know that works (with the usual challenges seen on any platform) and that many organizations are headed in that direction. We run the Apps on many different platforms in our organization and have been quite pleased with the Linux environment. My strongest suggestion is that you have the proper Linux expertise available in your organization. Spend money on training to ensure that your technical resources feel comfortable in the environment. Then make sure you have a way to test performance / load of the system before going live. Finally, you should be thoughtful about the "move" process. Often times there is a desire to add lots of new functionality and processes to the new environment ("while you are moving why don't we just upgrade / add ..."). If this desire is too overwhelming to manage, you may want to migrate and load test the current environment, then start over again with the new features.
