QUESTION POSED ON: 26 March 2004 I want to install Oracle9i on Linux RedHat 7. What is the procedure?
>
I would recommend that you use a more recent RedHat distribution as RedHat 7 is somewhat dated. Since Oracle9i was released, Oracle only certified it on the enterprise versions of Linux. However, it will install and run on the standard distributions just fine as long as you don't require support from Oracle. One excellent resource for installing Oracle on RedHat Linux is a documented developed and maintained by Werner Puschitz. His page shows the procedures you'll need to install Oracle9i on just about any RedHat Linux distribution.
