QUESTION POSED ON: 30 December 2003
We would like to be able to utilize our Entrust PKI infrastructure to provide access to Financials. We installed at 11.5.7 with database version 9.2.0.4 on a Sun Solaris platform. We have Entrust installed and operational for e-mail clients, etc. What are the steps to allow Entrust to be the authenticating mechanism for accessing our Financials applications?

For those who are asking, "What's Entrust PKI?" it has to do with public key infrastructure. Oracle has a note in MetaLink (150887.1) that discusses the modifications Oracle has made. Specifics are in Chapter 10 of the Oracle Advanced Security Administrator's guide.

1. Verify that you have Oracle Advanced Security installed.

2. Go to the http://www.entrust.com/developer and download the IPSEC libraries and the server login libraries.

3. Read MetaLink note 150887.1 which details potential problems and solutions for various architectures.
