QUESTION POSED ON: 22 December 2003 I'm taking cold backups weekly (Sundays) and the database is running on archive log mode. Now my database crashed on Saturday night, and I'm applying my archive files to recover it. But I found that out of 1,000 archive files, the 997th file is corrupted. Now will it be possible to get point-in-time recovery? And if yes then please let me know how.

No, full point-in-time recovery won't be possible with a corrupted archive log file. You'll have to stop after the 996th file.
