QUESTION POSED ON: 14 November 2002
How can I update a field that looks like this:
000000002337 000000002345 000000002352 200129 2337 2345 2352 2360 2378 6000000676 676 68 692 90000068
to be padded on the left with zeros, for a total of 12 characters. Like this:
000000002337 000000002345 000000002352 000000200129 000000002337 000000002345 000000002352 000000002360 000000002378 006000000676 000000000676 000000000068 000000000692 000090000068
This is SQL Server.

Try using something like this:

select replicate('0',12-len('67263')) + '67263'

In your SQL, substitute both instances '67263' with a character representation of you number. 12 is the total desired length; and '0' is the character with which you want to pad you "numbers".
