QUESTION POSED ON: 01 May 2008
We have upgraded one of our Oracle servers from version 8.1.7.4 to 10.2.0.3, but the other one is still 8.1.7.4. When I make a call to stored proc. through db link from 10g to 8i, it is failing, as it is not able to identify array types which is defined on 8i and are being passed as a parameter to procedure call. It is not recognizing array types defined on 8i.

EXPERT RESPONSE
This is one of the known problems with db links from Oracle 10g to Oracle 8i. Oracle Corp will probably not fix this issue since 8i is desupported for new issues. They will tell you to upgrade your 8i db to 10g and then things will work fine.
