QUESTION POSED ON: 06 September 2007
I have two-node Oracle 10g RAC with ASM on an AIX system. I want to take a backup of my archive log files from node 1. These archive files reside on each node (on their internal HD) not on ASM.

EXPERT RESPONSE
Your best bet is to use RMAN to back up the archived redo logs. This chapter does a good job of explaining how to use RMAN to back up your RAC database.
