QUESTION POSED ON: 06 September 2007
Hi, I did a dbverify through Brtools. It ended with one particular datafile not accessible.
BR0395I Verifying /oracle/HRX/sapdata6/hrp_231/hrp.data231
using DBVERIFY...
BR0278E Command output of '/oracle/HRX/102_64/bin/dbv file=
/oracle/HRX/sapdata5/hrp_237/hrp.data237 blocksize=8192':
DBVERIFY: Release 10.2.0.2.0 - Production on Tue Aug 28 12:08:30
2007 Copyright (c) 1982, 2005, Oracle. All rights reserved.

DBV-00100: Specified FILE (/oracle/HRX/sapdata5/hrp_237/hrp.data237)
not accessible
I do not have the offline backup available with me. How can I resolve this issue?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
First, I'd find out why this file is not accessible. Most times, this is an OS issue. Resolve the OS issue and then run dbverify again. It may just work and your database will open. Otherwise, restore all of your datafiles from your offline backup. If you have archived redo logs, you can roll forward your transactions since that backup.
