QUESTION POSED ON: 27 August 2007
I am a Kenyan and in my country only a few companies/organizations have implemented Oracle. Thus Oracle-specific jobs are still quite rare and even when available only the experienced DBAs tend to get them.
I am qualified in IT and IT auditing (CISA) and have three years' work experience in IT. I want to take my career and knowledge to the next level through Oracle certifications -- OCP and OCA.
Kindly advise what is the best way to approach this new quest or even if it is advisable to venture this route?

I'm pretty organized and analytical in approach -- involved in systems analysis and design in previous systems development projects.
