EXPERT RESPONSE
Upgrading from Oracle 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.7 is a fairly minor step so it likely won't impact your applications. Having said that, sometimes these minor upgrades do cause problems. The only way to be sure is to perform this upgrade in a non-production environment, involve your application support teams and business users to test extensively. Create a test plan and perform all critical business functions, as well as other non-critical functions, each time you test the database upgrade. Only with exhaustive testing can you be sure whether the database upgrade will negatively affect your applications. This testing will also provide you with a chance to troubleshoot any problems prior to performing this upgrade in a production environment, and possibly provide you with an opportunity to tune application SQL.
