QUESTION POSED ON: 10 January 2007
I'm doing graduation in B.Tech and would like to take Oracle 10g RAC as my project for the last semester. Could you please tell me how much a two-node RAC implementation would cost at a minimum? What hardware should I buy for this? And could you please suggest a book (it should not be very expensive) for RAC and links to some Web sites?

EXPERT RESPONSE
The cheapest implementation from scratch that I have seen is this case study on Oracle's site. Total cost is $1800, but again it is from scratch with new equipment. At the very least it will give you an idea of the minimum components.
