QUESTION POSED ON: 30 January 2006
I have an Oracle 8i database running. I am new to Oracle 9i. How can I import data from an Oracle 8i dump file to the 9i database?

>
Importing data from Oracle 8i to 9i should pose no issues. The 9i import facility is compatible with the 8i export format. This is one well worn method of database upgrades. So you should simply be able to read in your Oracle 8i export file and import it into 9i.
