QUESTION POSED ON: 07 September 2005
How can I do a cluster on my forms and reports level or at least do a load balancing between them?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
If you are using Forms6i you must manually cluster the forms server across two servers connecting to a backend database. This includes having some users connect to one server while others connect to the second server. With 9i and 10g, the forms server is a middle tier instance and clustering is easy. Use the Web-based OEM and create a cluster. Add the current forms tier to the cluster. Install a second middle tier and add it to the cluster. OEM will configure the second instance to match the instance in the cluster. Web cache can then be configured to automatically load balance the two (or more) instances in the cluster.
