QUESTION POSED ON: 29 August 2005
I am installing Oracle Financials 11.5.10 in a split configuration tier (Intel Linux and HP-UX Itanium). How do I migrate the database tier from the Intel box to the HP-UX box?

>
EXPERT RESPONSE
If I understand your question correctly, it sounds like you are migrating from one OS to another and want to know how to migrate the data. Prior clients that have faced this challenge have all done it the same way. First, install the application on the new box. Next, and most important, patch the new application to the same level as the application in the existing box. Then, export/import the data from old to new. Again, make certain that you are at the same patch levels before importing any data.
