QUESTION POSED ON: 23 March 2005
While installing Oracle8i in Win2000pro system, the installation process is stopped after I select the installation types. The wizard disappeared without any error message. Also, I have renamed the file from "symcjit.dll" to "symcjit.old" and then it restarts the installation.

EXPERT RESPONSE
The installer logs all actions in a logfile located at (by default) C:Program FilesOracleInventorylogs. I'd look there for more information. You should also use a later release since 8i has been unsupported for quite a while now.
