I am in the throws of installing Oracle9i on a Linux workstation. Now that 10g for Linux is out, I am wondering if I should directly install 10g and not worry about 9i. Can I do it? if so what about the memory requirements for it?? Would 128 MB be sufficient for it? How about the disk space?

You can install Oracle10g on the same platforms you can install 9i on.
However, 128 MB is not enough memory. I'd suggest at least 512 MB, maybe
more if you are also running an X-Windows environment. The Oracle software takes about 2 GB of disk space. It can take more or less depending on the options you install. But the database itself can typically take up much more disk space. It depends on how much data you need to store.
