EXPERT RESPONSE
Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM) can be installed on your desktop and be
used to connect to, and manage, more than one Oracle instance.
Typically, people install a Windows version of OEM on the Windows
workstation, but other platforms exist as well. You can find OEM on
your RDBMS installation media.
The installation instructions depend on which version of OEM you are
using. You state that you are using Oracle 8, but you could be using
even the most current OEM version to connect to that Oracle database.
So you'll have to refer to the Oracle documentation on that specific
version for instructions. You will be looking for the Oracle Enterprise
Manager Installation Guide or the Configuration Guide. You can find the
documentation on Technet (http://technet.oracle.com).
