Can we install Oracle 9i AS and Oracle 9i database on the same box?

EXPERT RESPONSE

Yes, you can. However, this is NOT recommended, and Oracle actively discourages it in its documentation. Think of it this way, both an internet/application server (9iAS) and a database server (9i) generate lots of traffic and are process intensive. You would be much better served to install them on separate boxes.
