Does the CKPT process write to redo log files or archived log files?
The CKPT process is responsible for updating the datafile headers and the control files in response to a checkpoint operation. The process that writes to the online redo log files is the LGWR (log writer) process. If the log fills up, the ARCn (archiver, where n is a number) process copies the online redo log file to an archive file.
