What is the max number of sessions that Oracle 8i supports?

I want to know the maximum number of concurrent Oracle sessions that Oracle 8i could support. I know that it depends upon the parameters, e.g., LICENSE_MAX_USERS, defined in the initSID.ora file. But what is the maximum sessions that I could get a license from Oracle for?

Oracle will sell you as many licensed sessions as you want to buy. But there are two ways to license your database. You can license by the number of users you will support, or you can license for an unlimited number of users by paying for the per-processor licensing. The per-processor licensing is a flat fee, no matter how many users you support. Depending on your configuration options, there is a point where the per-processor licensing model is cheaper than the per-user licensing model. You can get more information from the Oracle Store and from your Oracle sales rep.
