What do database architects do?

Your newest expert Phillip Bracken is a database architect. What exactly do database architects do? Thanks.

Database architects are typically the ones who design the structure of the tables, indexes and other objects inside the database. Sometimes, this is called the "logical DBA." This differs from what some call the "physical DBA" who is in charge of backups, security and ensuring that the database is running optimally. Often times, the terms "development DBA" and "production DBA" are used here too.
