Verifying patch level of Oracle instance

How do you verify what patch level an instance of the Oracle RDBMS is on?

How do you verify what patch level an instance of the Oracle RDBMS is on? I recently applied patch 8.1.7.4.28 5496067 to a production database and I was asked by a peer how we can determine what the current patch level of a database is. Thanks!
You probably used OPatch to install the patch. OPatch keeps an inventory of all installed patches. At the command prompt, type "opatch lsinventory." It will let you know which patch numbers are installed.
