Is RAID 5 good for an Oracle database?

RAID 5 is probably the most popular for Oracle database implementations. However, what you want to use depends on our requirements. If your clients require the best performance and data protection, then I would go with RAID 10 which offers better performance and disk fault tolerance than RAID 5. Of course, RAID 10 arrays will cost more, but you get what you pay for. If not, then RAID 5 would be acceptable.
