Upgrading from Oracle 8i to what?

We are currently running Oracle 8i. I want to know the pros and cons of migrating to any higher versions from 8i. Which is the better higher version to migrate to from 8i?

If you stay on Oracle 8i, then you lose Oracle Support. Error Correction Support for Oracle 8i ended. The only fully supported versions are 9i and 10g. Aside from the support issues, Oracle 9i and 10g include many new features that can make your life easier. It is worthwhile to upgrade to these newer versions to take advantage of their newer features. A month ago, I would have said to upgrade to Oracle 9.2.0.5. But today, I'd advocate upgrading to Oracle 10.1.0.3. This version has 10g's first patchset, fixing the major bugs in the initial release of that product.
