It's always best to seek performance improvements by analyzing the
application's actions and making changes according to your observations
rather than attempting to "tune" the database as a whole. Having said that,
however, many database and instance parameters do have a noticeable effect
on performance; pay particular attention to such settings as the database
cache size, shared pool size, PGA aggregate target, and
session_cached_cursors as you run applications for the first time, and
