Q

Starting OEM on Windows box with Oracle 8i on Linux server

I am Oracle challenged. I have Oracle 8i on a Linux server. I would like to start the OEM on the Windows box but...

get the VTK-1000 error.

When I try the command oemctrl ping oms, the Linux box goes to its knees with this process taking 99.9% of the CPU time. The commmand does not come back. Two aspirin have not helped.

You installed the DB on a Linux box and you're starting OEM on a Windows box. Maybe you should try starting OEM on the Linux box? I don't use OEM, and I don't know what the VTK-1000 error is.
