Q

Slow server response after migration

Recently we migrated from Windows NT P3 1.0 GHz, 256 MB RAM to P4 2.5 GHz, 512 RAM with SCO Unix. After migration, we are facing problem of slow response from server. Unix is installed with default options and Oracle is installed with default options.
When you migrated, did you also use your old INIT.ORA configuration file? If you installed Oracle with the default options, then there could be a large number of initialization parameters that are constraining the performance of your Oracle database. You'll need to adjust these accordingly for your database performance.
