Should I place datafile in temp memory when exporting/importing?

A friend told me that while exporting or importing data, if we placed that datafile in the temp memory it will be fast. Do you agree with this?

I don't think I understand what you were told: "place the datafile in temp memory". I've never heard of such a thing (while that doesn't necessarily mean it doesn't exist, it's not anything I'm familiar with). Datafile locations are established and you don't just move them on a whim. Plus, you should never put permanent data in a temporary tablespace. I may be misunderstanding what you've been told but without further specific info, I'd have to answer by saying I don't agree.
