I am trying to remove Oracle 9i. I used the removal tools. I cannot remove the oci.dll because it is marked READ ONLY. I tried to change the READ ONLY and it will not remove it. How can I remove Oracle 9i?
Try renaming the file. Many times, you cannot delete the file or change it to READ WRITE while the file is open. But oddly, Windows will let you rename the file. Change the file's name to something like "oci.dlx" then reboot your machine. This DLL file will not be found by whatever program is using it. At that point, you can change it to READ WRITE and rename it back. Your program will be able to remove the file.
