Q

Performing a complete uninstall of Oracle 9i

I installed Oracle 9i on my machine. I then had to uninstall. It seems that Oracle still had services and files on my machine and Oracle.exe was still running after the uninstall. What's the best way to get a 100 percent uninstall of Oracle?
Search Metalink for the note on how to perform a complete deinstallation of Oracle from Windows. I'm not sure what the note number is, but it should be relatively easy to find. Basically, you need to delete the files from the ORACLE_HOME (as many as Windows will let you ), delete the services (from the registry), remove the softwareoracle key from the registry (it appears in multiple locations), reboot, and then delete the rest of the files. That's all from memory and I've probably missed a step or two, so follow the note.
