Q

Migrating an Oracle 9i database to an Oracle 10g

I need to migrate an Oracle 9i database to an Oracle 10g. Is there a migration that you would recommend?
Oracle includes the software you need to migration your Oracle 9i database to Oracle 10g. It is called the Database Upgrade Assistant. It can perform your migration quickly and easily with its GUI wizard. When you install Oracle 10g on that database server, it will detect the presence of your Oracle 9i database and ask you if you want it to be migrated to the latest version. You can also launch the Migration Assistant later on its own.

I would highly recommend reading the Oracle 10g Migration Guide before migrating your database to a new version. It contains tons of details and information. Many migration headaches can disappear if you simply take time to read and understand this document before proceeding.
