I understand that Oracle Recovery Manager will normally remove the archived log files upon the completion of a full backup. Is there a way to keep archived log files in the destination folders and manually remove them later on?

I greatly appreciate your help.

You have to specify an option to have RMAN automatically delete the archived redo logs after they have been backed up. If your RMAN script simply says "BACKUP ARCHIVELOG ALL," then RMAN will not delete the archived redo logs. If your RMAN script contains "BACKUP ARCHIVELOG ALL DELETE INPUT," then it is the "DELETE INPUT" clause that instructs RMAN to delete the archived redo logs after backing them up.
