Q

Loading Oracle 9i on a Linux laptop

What is the required configuration to load Oracle 9i on Linux on a laptop?

Please let me know the required configuration of a laptop to load Oracle 9i on Linux. I would greatly appreciate your suggestions.
The best place to look for this information is Oracle's official documentation located on OTN. The Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) Installation Guide for Unix Systems will give you information required to plan the installation, hardware and operating system requirements, as well as how to install the Oracle database software.

Another good reference is the Oracle9i Release 2 (9.2.0.1.0) Release Notes for Linux Intel (32-bit). This will provide you with more specific information with respect to installing Oracle database software on the Linux x86 platform.

Finally, I would recommend reviewing the Oracle Certification Matrix to ensure that the release of Oracle database software you wish to install is certified and supported on your Linux operating system.
