Installing 10g on Sun Solaris OS

I am trying to install Oracle 10g (10.1.0.3.0) on a Sun Solaris 9 operating system on an Intel x86 box. When I log in as an ORACLE user and issue the command runInstaller, an error message appears.

My name is Obaid and I am Oracle DBA. I am trying to install Oracle 10g (10.1.0.3.0) on a Sun Solaris 9 operating system on an Intel x86 box. When I log in as an ORACLE user and issue the command runInstaller, the following message appears:
Starting Oracle Universal Installer...
Checking monitor: must be configured to display at least 256 colors
Failed <<<< >>> Could not execute auto check for display colors using
command /usr/openwin/bin/xdpyinfo. Check if the DISPLAY variable is set.
Some requirement checks failed. You must fulfill these requirements
before continuing with the installation,at which time they will be rechecked.
Continue? (y/n)
Please help me to install successfully.
Check to see if your DISPLAY variable has been set properly. This allows the Installer to display output back to your workstation.

This problem may also be due to root not running xhost +. If this command is not run, then no other user can connect to the display. Stop the installation process, log into the server as root and run:

xhost +
Then try the installation again. If this still does not correct the problem, review the InstallActions.log file in the oraInventory directory to see if more details are provided.
