Q

Installing 10g on RedHat

Could you give a solid reference on installing Oracle10g AS on RedHat 8.0? I can upgrade to RH 9.0 if I must. I will need step-by-step instructions on setting up the OS environment variables, and everything needed to make the installation successful.
First, I'd start by reading the Oracle platform-specific documentation. For Linux, you can find a copy here:
http://download-east.oracle.com/docs/html/B10811_01/toc.htm

If that isn't enough, I'd then take a look at the white paper sections on the following: http://www.dizwell.com/

Finally, it should be noted that RH 8.0 and RH 9.0 are not supported for Oracle10g. Rather, RH AS/ES 2.1 or 3.0 are supported.
