When executing SQL or PL/SQL programs a message like "input truncated to one character" is displayed. What is that?

When executing SQL or PL/SQL programs a message like "input truncated to one character" is displayed. What is that?
In earlier releases of SQL*Plus, if your last line in a script wasn't a carriage return (in other words, it had text) you would get this. It is not a problem, just annoying.
