Q

Extra ASCII character in MACHINE column on log in from a Windows domain

When I log in from a Windows domain like 'domainhostname', the MACHINE column in V$SESSION appears with an extra ASCII 0 character, leading to problems when making WHERE clauses against the MACHINE column. Is this a normal behaviour?
I don't know. I would suggest putting in a tar with Oracle for this. You might try a custom view on top of v$session that removes this extra character.
