Export terminates before it ends properly

When I export in 8.1.6.3.0 database, the export terminated before it ends properly. There is no message or warning in the expert log file. There are two instances in the database and both have the same problem, though the actual line where it terminates is different.

Last 4 lines in instance 2:

. exporting bitmap, functional and extensible indexes

When I import the dump file, we get the following message in the import log:

IMP-00009: abnormal end of export file Import terminated successfully with warnings.
Obviously, the abnormal termination of the export process resulted in the IMP-00009 error. You'll need to perform a valid export. The big question is why the export terminates without warning. The first place I'd look is in my USER_DUMP_DEST directory for a trace file generated at the time the export terminated. It will contain valuable clues as to why the export didn't complete successfully.
