I am working in Oracle 9i and I have successfully applied the CPUOct2006 (5490841). I started the database, and the listener as well. But while starting the Apache server the following error was thrown:
apachectl: /softwares/Oracle92/OraHome1/Apache/Apache/bin/httpd:
Execute permission denied.
apachectl start: httpd could not be started
Could you please provide a workaround for this? Thanks in advance.
I have not encountered this problem specifically related to applying a CPU patch, but it appears as though ownership and/or permissions have been modified for the apachectl executable. Apachectl must be owned by root and have the sticky bit set. Check that this is still the case after application of the patch.
