I have Oracle Database 126.96.36.199 running on HP-UX B.11.23 U ia64 platform. I am trying to apply Critical Patch Update for the Oracle infrastructure. I have downloaded Patch 5225793 whose read-me doc says to download "OPatch 188.8.131.52.55" which comes with Patch 2617419. But I could not find one for my release. Can you please advise on where to get the components like PERL and JDK for the exact platform and processor? Thank you very much in advance.
OPatch is a Perl-based utility which uses Java APIs so it works across many different operating systems. As mentioned, you can download OPatch via patch #2617419 and it does require Perl 5.005_03 or higher. OPatch also requires JDK to be present in the Oracle Home. It requires JDK versions of 1.3.1 or higher for proper functioning. JDK usually gets installed via the OUI when Oracle software is installed. If it was not installed with your Oracle installation, you might be able to invoke the OUI and install it, or you may also be able to download it from HP. If you don't have Perl, you can download Perl from
using Bug 2417872. I would also recommend that you read the user's guide and FAQ document that comes with OPatch when it is downloaded.
