Q

Changing a materialized view without dropping it

Is it possible to alter a materialized view without dropping it? This is required when an attached table structure gets changed and to incorporate this change in the MV I drop and again re-create it. This is very cumbersome as the privileges to other users get lost when I drop the MV each time.

You can refresh the materialized view with the ALTER MATERIALIZED VIEW REFRESH command. Click here for more ALTER MATERIALIZED VIEW commands.
