Q

Can we stop writing to the alert log?

Can writing to the alert log be stopped?

Can writing to the alert log be stopped? That is, if you want to do something in Oracle but you do not want it to be logged, can the logging to the alert log be stopped?
You cannot stop logging to the Alert log. And it is not a good idea to do this, even if you could. The Alert log is there to allow DBAs to spot problems, or potential problems, with the database, and resolve the issue before an end user may notice it.
