Can't log in to 8i database on Windows XP after restart

I have installed Oracle8i on a Windows XP Pro machine. After restarting the database I cannot log in to the system.

I have installed Oracle8i on a Windows XP Pro machine. Then I have to restart the PC. Before restarting the database I installed successfully and logged on. After restarting the database I cannot run in the system. But in the same way I could successfully install Oracle8i in the Win2000 O/S. What's wrong or needs to be configured for Windows XP?
Oracle 8i is not certified on Windows XP. You should use a certified version on this platform. Luckily, you can download Oracle 10g, which is certified on XP, from Technet.
