Can't connect using Reports
I have installed Oracle8i database with ORACLE_HOME as d:/ora8i. Later I installed Oracle Reports Server 6i with Oracle home as d:/ora6i. I have created a database called apex and added listener to that. Now my sql+ is connecting but I cannot connect using Reports. I have copied tnsnames.ora from my 8i to 6i. How can I solve this problem?

You do have to configure the networkadmin configuration files for your Dev6i ORACLE_HOME. Copying the TNSNAMES.ORA file may or may not be enough. You may also need to correctly configure the SQLNET.ORA file. Then, when you fire up your Oracle Reports, make sure you are using the correct ORACLE_HOME directory. Oracle provides a Home Selector tool for Windows environments. Fire up the tool and select the appropriate ORACLE_HOME before firing up Reports.
